Miki Cianciolo: An Italian talent abroad!

I met MIKI , Michaela Miki Cianciolo, and I asked her some questions to be able to introduce her to you.

THE INTERVIEW
Miki, where were you born?
I was born in Sarzana , a city in the province of La Spezia, in Liguria.
Where do you currently live?
At the age of 17 I moved to Berlin , where I still live today.
At what age do you start singing?
At the age of nine I attend the School of Professor Nelly Corbellini, and I participate in the first edition of Karaoke, conducted by Fiorello . At the age of 12 I participate in other competitions, more or less important, including the: National Competition of Radio Italia , which, after winning it, dedicates a beautiful interview to me.
A nice mess tin?
Yes, I would say very educational and very funny: I have met many professionals; authors, singers, composers and from each of these I have received valuable advice, which still helps me.
Then, in Berlin, what happens?
In this city I continue to perform in various clubs and participate in different Talents, winning a very important one that allows me to land on television on
SAT 1 , the first German national network. Then other experiences on ZDF . After a pause of about three years I resume and meet Sasha Buonanno , a great Piano Bar artist in Italy in the 90s who was here for a contract, who proposes me to work together. And this is how our collaboration begins which has led us to be a highly appreciated Duo in Germany , but also, and above all, abroad.
Then the turning point?
Yes exactly. The decision, together with the German label TimeZone and AlaBianca , to release a first album: a rather difficult choice, considering that I decided to present a CD entirely in Italian , first promoted in Germany. But with great and pleasant surprise I found a lot of interest in the piece Afryca , sung with Andrea OFG ; Sardinian songwriter, much appreciated in South America, as well as in Italy.
A new experience in Sicily this year?
Yes, Il Cantamare : Festival aired for over twenty years on the Rai network, and from which artists of the caliber of Zucchero, Fiorella Mannoia, Flavia Fortunato, just to name a few, which continues to be one of the sought-after destinations of the new Italian talents and more; because Il Cantamare, directed by the Patron Gianni Contino , gives you the opportunity to perform both with unreleased songs and with covers, it gives you a lot of visibility through television shows, as well as record contracts. But the most coveted prize is the ticket to New York , which takes you to perform at: Festival Of Song USA , organized by the Italian-American community, and therefore to promote my song.
So it went great: did you win?
Yes, in the unpublished section with my piece Italy, which I wrote together with a German author, John Sliwa. A song dedicated to all Italians who, like me, live abroad, but who do not forget their country, always carrying it in their hearts.
Future projects?
A second album is already in the works, which will see several and important collaborations, and also a particular project: a tribute to an artist who has made the Italian music scene famous; but, for now, I don't say anything else ..
